Meeting Minutes for meeting held on February 2, 2005

Meeting called to order by Jackie Moyer at 8:00 a.m.
Welcome to new members and guests. Warm welcomes were extended to Bob Eiss of Pecatonica Township and Scott Wenstrom of the new silk screening store, Northstar Graphics.
President’s Message: None.
Treasurer’s Report was distributed and summarized by Joy Seaton. Sherry Schuur moved to approve the report as presented. Ed Smith seconded the motion and the report was approved unanimously.
Minutes of the December meeting and the January meeting were distributed. Joan Cunningham moved to approve the December minutes. Tara Theisen seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. The following amendments were requested to the January meeting minutes: to list Jackie Moyer as President and Laura Weigert as Member at Large. Ed Smith moved to approve the minutes as amended. Joy Seaton seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
New members and businesses: Welcome Northstar Graphics.
Agenda additions: None.
Committee Reports
Finance and Administration Committee: No report was made.
Membership Committee: Several businesses have sent in their membership dues. Please submit if you have not yet done so.
Streetscape Committee: Jackie Moyer received a call from a representative selling banners. Joan pointed out that new ones are overdue, but suggested that we wait until after the festival.
Advertising and Business Promotion: No report was made. Ed Smith reminds us that pecweb@aeroinc.net provides free advertising for community organizations and he also publishes the “Downtown Tales” on his website. Ed will give the password to Joan Cunningham so we can update our website.
Summer Festival Committee: The next committee meeting will be on 2/7/05 at 6:00 p.m. at US Bank. All sponsorships have been received. The committee is planning on over 50 cars for the car show. They have also added a classic motorcycle show. The Children’s stage is sponsored. Joy Seaton and Sherry Schuur are in charge of tickets and have ordered them. They will be $0.50 each and be used for concessions and beer. The committee has also checked into the cost of dram shop insurance and they expect it to cost between $300.00 and $700.00 for the weekend. We will be using wristbands for identification at the beer tent. Joan Cunningham will be meeting with Rex Lender regarding the electric service. We are applying for grants through the Arts Council and the county.
Old Business
Downtown Lights: The downtown lights have arrived and will be installed soon.
New Business
PIA extends its congratulations to Pecatonica Chiropractic for a successful Ladies Night Out. At least 153 women, not including vendors, attended the popular event.
Lions Club Donation: The Lions Club would like to donate some money to PIA for a specific project. It was suggested that we designate the repair and replacement of the banners and brackets as the project. Ed Smith moved that we accept the Lions Club offer of funds to purchase new banners and brackets and to secure a bid from Northstar Graphics. Sherry Schuur seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Adjournment: Ed Smith moved to adjourn the meeting. Joy Seaton seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 8:53 a.m.
Next meeting will be Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. at the Stonewall Café.
The next meeting for the Festival Committee will be at 6:00 p.m. on February 7 in the community room in the basement of U.S. Bank. Please plan to attend and bring a friend.
