Committee
Reports
Finance and Administration Committee: No report was made.
Membership Committee: No report was made. Membership letters will go out in January.
Streetscape Committee: The lights have been ordered. The Christmas decorations are up. A very warm thank you to Rex Lender for his ever generous donation of his time. The decorations, however, need to be repaired. It was agreed that we will put out a canister at the silent auction to solicit donations from the public for the street decorations.
Advertising and Business Promotion: Tara Theisen passed out the ads she purchased for the Christmas Walk. Don Sandell has agreed to participate in a telephone interview with the radio station, 92.1 FM, for promotion of the Christmas Walk.
Summer Festival Committee: Jackie Moyer met with Sue Mroz, the county director of regional planning. They hope to obtain two (2) grants for the festival. Next week, Jackie will be investigating the feasibility of renting generators. The committee has asked the garden club to conduct a garden tour during the festival. There will be a car show, golf tournament, auction, childrens area, and much, much more. The committee has obtained several sponsors to cover the cost of some of the items. However, no amount of sponsorship can replace the volunteers necessary to make it a success. Therefore, contact Jackie Moyer at US Bank for a list of positions to be filled. First come, first served.
Christmas Walk: Jackie Moyer has obtained the animals for the nativity. Thank you to Carol Falconer of the Equine Center for finding the animals (including a camel!) and to Dennis, who donated the animals. Don Sandell and a group of Boy Scouts will light the luminaries at 4:30 on Friday, December 3. Bill Doran, Inc., a wholesale florist graciously donated 175 candles for the luminary. The nativity parade will begin at 5:30 and is a must see. Jackie Moyer gave all credit to Michelle Schnorr for organizing what will be a beautiful nativity. Once the holy family reaches the stable, hot beverages will be available. Don Sandell will organize the beverage service. Also, the attendees will all be invited to gather round and sing Christmas Carols lead by Then, Now & Forever Friends. On Saturday, downtown visitors can enjoy wagon rides from 10:00 12:00. The silent Auction will be in the basement of U.S. Bank all day on Friday and from 9:00 2:00 on Saturday. We have had a nice response, but can use a few more things. So if you have not sent in your donation, please do so now.
