Meeting Minutes for meeting held on March 2, 2005

Members in attendance:  Janet Fuenty, Joy Seaton, Jackie Moyer, Joan Cunningham, Tara Theisen, George Anderson, Sherry Schuur and Ryan Reinecke.

 

Meeting called to order by Jackie Moyer at 8:00 a.m.

 

Welcome to new members and guests.  New members, old members and guests are always welcome and appreciated.  Ryan Reinecke came to represent Dolphin Swim Club.

 

Treasurer’s Report was distributed and summarized by Joy Seaton.  Sherry Schuur moved to approve the report.  George Anderson seconded the motion and the report was approved unanimously.  Joy further stated that the bulk mail stamp renewal was due.  Joan Cunningham moved to expend $150.00 for the bulk mail stamp.  Joy Seaton seconded the motion and the motion passed.

 

Minutes of the prior meeting were distributed.  Sherry Schuur corrected the date of the election from April 12 to April 5.  Sherry moved to approve the minutes as amended.  Joy Seaton seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously. 

 

New members and businesses:  Tick Tock Clock Shop and Attorney Elizabeth Clark have opened.   The Main Tap is now Booties Main Tap with new owners Kelly & Chad Knutti and Jamie and Ben Larrow.  Dolphin Swim Club is now leasing the pool at J&J’s and is running the swimming program.

 

Committee Reports

 

Finance and Administration Committee:  No report. 

 

Membership Committee:  Membership dues and information sheets are being returned.

 

Streetscape Committee:  Joan Cunningham noted that it was time to plant the flowers.  She suggested that we contact the garden club and offer them $150.00 to fill the pots with flowers.  Tara Theisen moved to allow $150.00 for flowers.  Janet Fuenty seconded the motion and the motion passed.  George Anderson reported that the perimeter lights will be put up as soon as possible.  Jackie Moyer will call the electrician for an approximate date for installation.

 

Advertising and Business Promotion:  Tara Theisen created a very nice fax cover sheet for the festival.  Sherry Schuur suggested that the committee contact businesses with marquis to advertise the festival.

 

Summer Festival Committee:  Much more help is needed.  Dram shop insurance will cost $252.00.  We need permission from the Village to close Third Street from J&J’s to John Street.  The ABATE club will help set up on Friday morning.  The Boy Scouts and Key Club will clean up for donations.  A chairperson is needed for the 50/50 raffle.  A fire and emergency tent has been arranged.  Fireworks for 20 minutes on Saturday night will cost $2,500.00.  The next meeting is April 18th at 6:00 p.m. and will occur every other Monday thereafter.

 

 

Old Business

 

Candidate Forum.  This did not get put together.

 

New Business

 

Riverhawks.  Jackie Moyer passed out information that she received from the Rockford Riverhawks regarding a “Pecatonica Night” at their game on July 21 at the last meeting.  Sherry Schuur will give the information to the Mayor.

 

Adjournment:  Joan Cunningham moved to adjourn the meeting.  Tara Theisen seconded the motion.  The meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m.

 

Next meeting will be Wednesday, May 4 at 8:00 a.m. at the Stonewall Café.

 

The next meeting for the Festival Committee will be at 6:00 p.m. on April 18 in the community room in the basement of U.S. Bank.  Future meetings will be every other Monday thereafter.  Please plan to attend and bring a friend.
