Old Business
Christmas Walk: Jackie Moyer reported that she had received many positive comments about the event – including compliments on the lovely hot chocolate. She also had some suggestions from other people on how to make next year’s walk a little better:
1. Move the live nativity to Saturday afternoon, either at 12:30 to 1:00 or from 3:00 – 4:00.
2. Closing the Silent Auction at 1:00 p.m.
3. Move the stable back further from the street (like behind Forget Me Not).
4. Obtain more angel costumes in larger sizes.
5. There was some confusion regarding the pizza party afterwards. Mrs. Schnorr stated that she could have it at her home and have the pizza delivered for next year.
6. Move the luminaries to Saturday night.
New Business
Airstream Rally: Jackie Moyer contacted the Visitor’s Bureau with Jim Anderson regarding the Airstream Rally in 2007. Valerie and LaVonne of the Bureau stated that it would help bring them if jim Anderson included in his proposal letters from community leaders stating that they wanted the rally to come to Pecatonica. Jackie Moyer will author a letter from the PIA.
Festival Committee Membership: All of our members must consider getting on one of the committees for the festival and chairing committees. There is a lot of work to do, especially the days before, during and after the festival. We need community organizations involved. Members are encouraged to invite community organizations and church leaders to the next festival meeting on February 7. Members should contact the fire department, put notices in their church newsletter or bulletin, have meetings with different groups (invite them for cookies), etc., etc., etc. Don Sandell will call Amy Kennedy from the newspaper and write an article to invite people to the meetings. We should have an article in the paper with a photo each month.
Adjournment: Laura Weigert moved to adjourn the meeting. Don Sandell seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 8:49 a.m.
Next meeting will be Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 8:00 a.m. at the Stonewall Café.
The next meeting for the Festival Committee will be at 6:00 p.m. on February 7 in the community room in the basement of U.S. Bank. Please plan to attend and bring a friend.
