Meeting Minutes for meeting held on August 3, 2005

Members in attendance: Jackie Moyer, Janet Fuenty, Joan Cunningham, Tara Theisen, Sherry Schuur, Jeff Sterling, Bob Eiss, Don Sandell, Shawna Karl, and Joy Seaton.
Meeting called to order by Jackie Moyer at 8:00 a.m.
Welcome to new members and guests. New members and guests are always welcome.
Treasurer’s Report. Joy Seaton distributed a summary of the expenses for the past two months and the expenses and proceeds of the Peeketolika festival. She received a bill for the repair of the Welcome sign from Shawcraft Signs totaling $750.00. Don Sandell moved that the bill be paid from the membership funds. Joan Cunningham seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. All bills for the festival were paid from the income, donations and sponsorships except C.J. Gregg’s fees of $5,000.00, which was the only expense the proceeds did not cover. Don moved that the money to pay Ms. Gregg be taken from the money market. Jeff Sterling seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
Minutes of the prior meeting were distributed and reviewed by those in attendance. Sherry Schuur moved to approve the minutes. Don Sandell seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.

Committee Reports
Finance and Administration Committee: No discussion.
Membership Committee: Jackie Moyer suggested that we have a membership drive to boost our membership numbers. Joy and Joan will develop a survey to determine what the community expects. Current members will be asked to pass out the survey and personally encourage non-members to join. Joan Cunningham attended that Winnebago Chamber of Commerce meeting and suggested that we explore making PIA a Chamber of Commerce. Joan will look into having a Chamber representative come to our meeting to discuss its benefits.
Streetscape Committee: See discussion below regarding the lighting project.
Advertising and Business Promotion: No discussion.
Lighting Project. Jackie Moyer spoke to Josh Meyers and had asked him to attend the meeting. Mr. Meyers was not present at the meeting. It was suggested that we explore smaller electrical firms and sole proprietorships to complete the project.
