Dear PWC Friend:

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know a little about Pecatonica Woman's Club. PWC normally meets the first Tuesday of each month from September to May. (Normally we meet at 7:15pm in the Community Room of Mercantile Bank of Pecatonica, but there are exceptions.) The club is comprised of seven (7) different committees. Members may join as many or as few committees as they choose. The committees and their duties are:

Art & Education: This committee awards the "Louise Knight Scholarship" each May to a graduating senior.

Family Life & Health: This committee is in charge of storyhour at the Pecatonica Public Library (held each Tuesday during the school year at 10:30am), the Schoolhouse Museum and the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Membership & Records: This committee puts together the membership book, assigns hostesses for each meeting, keeps the club scrapbook up-to-date, and recognizes members at the May Banquet with the "Wanda Germain Service Award" for every five years of service. Wanda was a charter member of PWC and remained active until her death in 1991.

PIA: This committee attends the monthly PIA meetings and reports back to the club.

Public Awareness: This committee notifies the paper of upcoming meetings and is responsible for the club camera.

Social: This committee helps plan the September Meeting, Christmas Party, May Banquet and any other social events.

Craft Fair: This committee plans the annual "A Day in the Country" Arts & Craft Fair which is held each October at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds. This committee is made up of several sub-committees which all work together to have a successful Craft Fair each year. The proceeds from craft fair (the club's only fund-raising event) are then disbursed in February to various community groups.
