1952
Mr. Potato Head began as a set of eyes, ears, noses, and mouths that gave everyday vegetables personalities.
1953
Mr. Potato Head met Mrs. Potato Head and, after a whirlwind courtship and a brief honeymoon, they became conspicuous consumers. They acquired their own convertible, boat, trailer, airplane, and locomotive.
1964
Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head took shape in the form of a molded plastic body.
1966
Mr. Potato Head became "Jumpin" Mr. Potato Head. He jumped, fished, played with his jackhammer, and flew kites. Mrs. Potato Head acquired a feather duster, floor polisher, dinner bell and vacuum cleaner.
1974
Mr. Potato Head recognized the onslaught of middle-age when he doubled in size.
1987
As Mr. Potato Head turned 35, he quit smoking his pipe and became the official "spokespud" of the American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout.
1992
Mr. Potato Head celebrated his 40th anniversary with the introduction of the Soft Stuff Potato Head, which comes with 15 soft pieces that attach with fabric fasteners. In addition, Mr. Potato Head celebrates his fifth smoke-free year without his pipe.
1995
Mr. Potato Head co-stars in Disney's computer-animated film, Toy Story.
