April 28th, 2006 ~ They took the forms off and the
cement foundation is starting to look like the shape of
the house. They covered the outside of the cement at the
underground level with tar to keep water from seeping
through. The round cement pads are where the support
poles go down the middle of the house to hold up the main
beam.
April 28th, 2006 ~ Now we wait for about
10 days for the cement to cure, then they lay foundation
drain tile all around the base so water won't leak into
the basement. The cement foundation has a brick ledge on
it so the brick layers will have a solid surface to start
the bricks on.
The next week - gravel was filled in the
basement. You are looking at the lower back room.

Week of May 22 - The main floor joists
were installed. This was a very warm day - low 90's. Ed
even delivered lemonade to the workers!

May 26, 2006 - the flooring is now down.

June 1, 2006 - The stud walls are now complete for
the house. You are looking down the hallway to go to the
bedrooms and bathrooms.
June 1, 2006 - Here's a view of the house from the
northeast corner. The garage walls are not up yet.

the east. The roof trusses are in the front yard.
